When we ask newlyweds to think back on what they wanted most for their big day — and we’ve interviewed hundreds of them over the years — the most common response is: “For it not to feel like a wedding!” But in a monsoon of flower crowns and macaroon towers, how do you see beyond the usual tropes and actually pull off a non-cookie-cutter affair? For the answer, we’ve decided to interrogate the cool couples whose weddings we would actually want to steal — right down to the tiger-shaped cake toppers.
Here, we talked to Jennifer and Krupa Cox-Shah, a pair of brides who tied the knot this spring, two years after they both swiped left. The weekend-long, Indian-American celebration at a New Hampshire winery included a vegetarian feast (followed by Taco Bell), and a DJ who provided both the drums for the baraat and the Janelle Monáe tunes for the reception.

Six months into their budding relationship, Peter Travers sat beside Caroline Walradt on a sofa at her home in South Brunswick, N.J. “I have something to say to you,” Mr. Travers, a father of four who was going through a divorce, announced on that spring day in 2014.
Ms. Walradt, a widow whose friendship with Mr. Travers seemed to be turning a romantic corner, was fixed on his every word.
“Peter had turned toward me in a very serious manner,” she recalled. “So I’m sitting there and thinking to myself, ‘Oh wow, what could this be.’”
When his intense stare gave way to a soft smile, Ms. Walradt began to wonder if Mr. Travers might be poised to use the “L word,” which had not yet come up in conversation.

As Cheryl Burke prepared to wed her groom, Matthew Lawrence, at a luxurious resort in San Diego, the weather forecast for the day wasn’t promising. “The morning was cloudy, and it threatened to rain,” Lawrence, 39, says of their May 23 celebration. But just before the ceremony began, the skies cleared. When Cheryl rounded the corner in her custom Romona Keveža gown to walk down the aisle, the sun shone, and the music swelled. You couldn’t have asked for a more perfect movie moment. The festivities cap off a 12 year love story for the couple, and like the finale of any good romantic comedy, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

When we say that Spring 2020's bridal trends run the gamut, we aren't kidding. Every look is entirely different. There are midis gathered to the side in '80s fashion, which reveal a slip of leg and make for an awesome shoe moment. Then there are over-the-top lace gowns with high necklines for modest, bohemian brides. Ballgowns are also in style, so if you've always imagined your walk down the aisle to be a magical Cinderella moment, you're in luck.

The Legends Romona Keveza Spring 2020 collection of bridal gowns takes us back to the glamorous days of New York City’s Rainbow Room at the Rockefeller Plaza in the 1940’s and 1950’s. Inspired by the biggest starlets of the day like Lena Horne and Elizabeth Taylor, this collection brings the femininity and softness of the era to today’s contemporary bride. Although this collection’s polished feel has a sophisticated elegance to it, it still maintains an air of playfulness that pays homage to the Hollywood legends that inspired it.
Flowing organza, opulent damasks, and classic French lace embrace the allure of this bygone era while Keveza’s timeless designs are an ideal choice for any luxurious modern wedding. Vintage-inspired elements like the organza ballgown with an illusion boat neckline are reminiscent of Audrey Hepburn’s 1950’s style, and the finale gown features a cut-out neckline and pleated ballgown skirt inspired by Jackie Kennedy’s signature look. Echoing the spirit of old Hollywood glamour, brides today can embrace their inner starlet and become a legend in their own time.

Legends Romona Keveža Spring 2020 takes us back in time to the glamour of the Rainbow Room of Rockefeller Plaza in the 1940‘s and 1950’s.
The opening look, a ball gown with a sequin Damask lace bodice, captures the allure of that historic time with a flowing organza cape and is followed by a sequin Damask lace gown highlighting a plunging deep V-neckline and V-back.An organza ball gown with illusion boat neckline is reminiscent of the classic style of Audrey Hepburn. A silk shantung ball gown featuring a deep V-neckline and circle skirt with a slit evokes the sensuality of Elizabeth Taylor. We are then introduced to re-embroidered French lace and Chantilly lace with two A-line silhouettes, one featuring a low illusion neckline, the other showcasing a boat-neckline and long sleeves.
A romantic off-the-shoulder gown with a soft A-line skirt is followed by a fluted luminescent embroidered silhouette that highlights a deep V-neckline. A delicately beaded Alencon lace neckline adds the perfect hint of femininity to an A-line ball gown and a silk satin gown, with empire pleated detail, is inspired by the elegance of Lena Horne. The finale gown, an ode to Jackie Kennedy’s signature style, features a cut-out neckline and a dramatic pleated ball gown skirt.
The Legends Romona Keveža Spring 2020 collection is polished and refined yet playful and romantic, echoing the spirit of the iconic Rainbow Room and inspiring today’s bride to “Be a Legend In Her Own Time”.
Grace Chapin James in Legends Romona Keveza
When Grace James started the hunt for the perfect wedding attire, she had two requirements: She wanted to match her vintage, eclectic style and the vibe of her venue, the Bond Chapel at the University of Chicago. Mrs. James found both in a Legends Romona Keveza gown. “I felt fancy, classy, and like there will be no way I’ll look back in a year, or 20, and say, ‘What was I thinking?’,” said Mrs. James who paired her gown with a headpiece by Debbie Carlisle, jewelry by Lulu Frost and a rhinestone belt made of trim she bought at a fabric store.
